This little gem of a camping spot is located along the Glade Top Trail in the beautiful Mark Twain Forest,Ava-Cassville-Willow Springs Ranger District. The Glade Top Trail is Missouri’s only National Forest Scenic Byway. The 23-mile trail weaves through narrow ridge tops above the surrounding rolling countryside. Along the trail are seven overlook “pull-outs” that provide panoramic views that reach to the Springfield Plateau twenty miles to the northwest and forty miles south to the Boston Mountains in Arkansas.

This campsite has two picnic tables and a fire/grill ring provided by your tax dollars. There is a hitching post for you horseback riders as well. This site is big enough to accommodate large groups with soft grass and tall walnut trees for shade and hammocks.
