THE HEALTHY HIKER
I love to go hiking, backpacking, camping, etc! But after turning 45 years old this year, I noticed some changes in myself. I have been less and less motivation to get out there lately. My joints are stiff in the mornings and my muscles ache throughout the day. On top of that I cannot seem to get a good nights rest anymore. I toss and turn all night long. Never getting that deep sleep your body needs. That lack of sleep is probably one of the biggest contributors to my aches and pains. One of the ways I have coped with this restlessness over the last couple of years was to go tent camping. To seek out those rare nights of deep sleep, I would go pitch my tent somewhere quiet in the peaceful mountains. Just trying to get away for a moment from life's stresses. But lately that hasn't been working. I have been tossing about my tent no different than if I where in bed at home. So I also noticed that I have not been drinking enough water. Your body needs water more than anything else. It maintains all the functions of you body. So I been keeping up with my water intake and have noticed a big difference! My joints and muscles are feeling much better. I still struggle with sleep, but my body is feeling more refreshed lately. Thank you water! Time to hit the trail.
